When my dog became sick with cancer last summer I started researching all the possible causes. It could be his genetics, but it could also be linked to household products and chemicals on lawns. While I tried to wrack my brain on what I could have done differently to avoid this awful diagnosis, I decided from that moment on I was going to do as much as I could (little by little) to switch over my everyday products to more natural items. If I was going to change my cleaning supplies for my dog, I should certainly be changing the things I use on my body for ME.
I heard about BeautyCounter through a friend and was thrilled to learn about their mission and their story. Beautycounter is committed to a health and safety standard that goes well beyond what’s required by U.S. law: Beautycounter has banned the use of more than 1,500 questionable or harmful chemicals through their “Never List”—all while ensuring their products perform and that they’re as indulgent as any other luxe shampoo, lipstick, or oil in the market.
All of their products are affordable for high-quality, safe products. Being a health coach and fitness enthusiast I am conscientious about what I put into my body by selecting and eating healthy food, so it only makes sense that I would be more careful about what I put into my body through the skincare products I use, right?
You know what else is crazy?!
The United States has not passed a major federal law to regulate the safety of ingredients used in personal care products since 1938.
We need to become our own advocates and start taking care of ourselves inside and out.
I love sharing my recipes and wellness tips with you lovely readers and I also want to help you make the switch to safer beauty products too.
Here’s to staying healthy inside and out!
