My 2 year old daughter can be super picky when it comes to food, but there is one thing she will always eat. Oatmeal! I found that many oatmeals on the market have tons of added sugar and other processed ingredients, so I decided to make some myself. You can buy the instant oats which are plain with nothing added and then doctor it up to taste delicious. The below recipe is not only great for little ones, but for anyone!
- Quaker Plain Instant Oats
- Banana
- 1 tbsp. chia seeds
- Light Brown Sugar (optional)
- Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
- Cinnamon
- Peanut Butter or Almond Butter (Plain no sugar added)
Cook oats per instructions. Usually just microwave with water for 1 minute.
While oats are still hot hot hot, add in 1 tbsp. of peanut butter and mix in to melt amongst the oats.
With a fork mash up 1/2 banana and add to mix.
Add in 1-2 tsp. of light brown sugar for a little more sweetness.
Add in 2-3 tablespoons of unsweetened vanilla almond milk and chia seeds. Mix together then sprinkle with cinnamon.
Let cool for 1-2 minutes, then serve!

Serve warm!
