What would New England be without a big snow storm just weeks before Spring? You can never count on the weather going the way you would like living in this part of the country – that is why I like to have an arsenal of at home workouts.
No excuses! Just because you can’t leave the house, doesn’t mean you cant get in a good sweat session. Also, this workout requires nothing but yourself, a towel and some water.
Warmup:
30 seconds of each exercise. Go at your own pace. Complete 2 rounds.
- plank walkouts
- air squats
- alternating reverse lunges
- alternating hip circles
- imaginary jump rope (unless you have one)
This will be a Tabata format which means 30 seconds on 20 seconds off. If you are at a beginner level flip it to 20 seconds of work, 30 seconds off. You can also modify all exercise to your level.
Complete the circuit 3 total rounds before taking a 1 minute break then moving on to the next circuit.
Circuit 1:
- Jumping Jacks
- Pushups
- Skaters
- Squat Jumps
Circuit 2:
- Alternating split squats
- Bicycle crunches
- Mountain climbers
- Burpees
Circuit 3:
- Reverse crunches
- Bridges
- Russian twists
- Plank hold
This is a solid workout that will get your heart rate up and your clothes drenched with sweat. Remember to end with some foam rolling and stretching. Have fun!
