Healthy Cinco De Mayo Snacks

IMG_1747It is Cinco De Mayo and that means everyone is getting sloshed on margs and chowin down on tacos and burritos. Well, here at Good Craving I try to find ways to still enjoy such holidays but stay healthy! Here is a quick Cinco De Mayo themed recipe for you all to enjoy πŸ™‚

Joseph’s Tortilla ChipsΒ

  • Joseph’s LavashΒ Whole Wheat Bread
  • Sea Salt
  • 1 tbs Coconut Oil

Only 70 calories, and low in carbs this is a great way to get that crunchy chip snack while staying relatively healthy. Simply cut the (1) lavash into triangle chips and place in pan on stove top. Add your coconut oil and sprinkle with sea salt. Cook on each side til golden brown. (about 2 minutes each side)

Homemade Guac

  • 1 avocado
  • 1/2 lime juiced
  • 1 garlic glove minced
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbs olive oil
  • 2-3 tbs chopped cilantro

Take all the above ingredients and mix in small bowl. VOILA quick and tasty guac to dip those chips in. This should be shared with another person as an entire avocado + olive oil can add up to a lot of fat. (But, I won’t judge you if you eat the whole bowl!)

Lastly, make some of that homemade cucumber salsa from my previous posting. All of these goodies together make a yummy and healthy Cinco De Mayo snack.
