Why as kids were we always being asked to “make our beds”?
It always seemed like such a pain in the ass. Like most things I was asked to do as a child it was something simple but I put up a fight. Ya know, like brushing my teeth or taking a shower. I still like to avoid both! JUST JOKING 🙂
Making your bed is such a simple task and takes almost no time at all. So why aren’t we doing this everyday? I am sure many people do make their beds, but why is it so important that we all work to get this done each morning?
Who doesn’t love crawling into bed at night into a FRESHLY made bed? There is something to be said about pulling back the comforter and the sheets and climbing under the covers of a made bed. Not the same effect when the covers are strewn across the floor and sheets are ruffled.
Begin your day on the right side of the “bed” and complete a task as soon as you wake up. There is no better feeling than being productive. If you are able to complete one thing in the AM it will set the tone for the rest of the day.
When you make your bed the room is automatically tidier and decluttered. I don’t know about you all but when my room and environment is clean I feel SO much better. It makes me feel less stressed and lifts my mood. Also, when your environment is organized it helps you to stay organized in other parts of your life.
Now to motivate myself to wash my sheets..
