Positive Energy Out – Positive Energy In

The positive energy you give out into the world will come back to you.

At least that is what I have heard. It seems like a nice idea.. but is it true?

Some may say, “Hey I am nice to people and I do good deeds and I still get the short end of the stick!” I get it, you can do the right things, say the right things and be an overall nice person and shitty things still happen to you. We can’t control everything that happens to us, but we can control who we surround ourselves with and how we react to everyday life.

I believe that the more positive vibes you put out the more positivity you will receive. I also believe that you need to surround yourself with positive energy. That means hanging out with people you enjoy spending time with and removing the negative people.

Here is a small example of what can happen when you EXHUDE positivity:

I was at the grocery store this morning. A snow storm was coming and it was an absolute zoo. Lines were long, people were shoving through the aisles and everyone was in a hurry to get out of the store before the snow started to fall. I was standing in line with just one more person to go before I could start laying my items on the conveyor belt. I looked over to the line next to me and noticed a woman with only 4 or 5 items. I had a pretty large cartful so I said to her, “Hey, I noticed you only have a few things you are more than welcome to cut in front of me.” She first said, “No, that is ok.” But I insisted and she was very grateful.

Ok, fine – no big deal right? But here is what happened next:

This woman who I let go in front of me had a large cart with only the few items she was buying. She noticed the man in front of us had grabbed more than he intended to buy and did not have a cart. She offered him hers as she could carry her items in one bag. He was stoked!

A small chain of events in the day that made everyone appreciative of one and other. It might seem small, but you never know how one positive action you take will impact another person. That person gets that warm fuzzy feeling and passes it on to someone else.

Don’t believe it? Try it for yourself. Do one or two things today that show the world and the people around you that you are ready to receive positive energy by giving it out. It sounds corny, but give it a whirl.
