Craving a Vacation Workout

img_1598I hope everyone enjoyed the long Labor Day weekend. I was lucky enough to snag a 3 night stay in a cabin on the lake up in the Adirondacks. It was a last minute “mini vacation” before the end of the Summer.

Even though I snacked on late night Smores by the fire pit and pizza from the local pub I managed to get some exercise in each day I was there. Aside from the hours of kayaking I did with my husband, I also did a workout right there in the middle of our bedroom. Remember, you only need a little bit of space to make a BIG impact on your day.

I was actually a little sore the next day! Try this out if you are looking for a new QUICK Β and effective workout. Also this baby only takes 20 minutes.

Step 1: Download a Tabata timer app on your phone if you can. It allows you to set up and label each round. If not, keep a clock nearby.

Step 2: Pump some Jams to help you get through it.

Step 3: Get a towel and a water bottle and find justΒ enough room to do jumping jacks in.

WORKOUT:

20 seconds of work + 10 second rest. Perform each exercise for 8 rounds before moving onto the next move.Β 

*Squat Jumps

*Mountain Climbers

*One legged squats ( alternating leg for each round)

*Push ups

*Jumping Jacks

Try to only take 30 seconds rest in between each move. Have fun with it! You can do these moves anywhere – NO EXCUSES ( especially if you are eating smores.)
