Morning Exercise

10583922_10100164511310265_5248194040026217370_nI have never considered myself to be a morning person, and I have also never considered myself to be a night owl. I believe some people are very much one or the other, or you are somewhere in the middle and train to be the type you prefer.

I have decided I want to be a morning person. How have I come to this conclusion? EXERCISE! There is something wonderful about waking up and getting amped up for the day ahead.

I am still training myself to do this, and there are mornings that I am groggy, don’t feel like getting out of bed, but still force myself to roll over-throw on a sports bra- and get a
20-30 minute at home workout completed.

After the first 8-10 minutes of moving I am wide awake, and happy to be up. Not only are you revving your metabolism, but you got your workout DONE and over with and all before 9 AM.  Of course everyone’s schedules are different, but most people wake up around 7 or 8 to be at work for 9. Try waking up at 6:00 for one week straight. Youtube a HIIT workout, or at home cardio workout. There are tons of videos out there for free, and if you buy a set of weights you are good to go!
Here is a quick morning workout to get you started ( no equipment needed, therefore no excuses!) All you need is a timer. Try to take 5 seconds or less time in between each exercise, and complete the following 3-4x through.

  • 30 seconds jumping jacks
  • 30 seconds deep squats
  • 30 seconds mountain climbers
  • 30 seconds skaters
  • 30 seconds plank jacks
  • 30 seconds jump squats
  • 1 minute of crunches
  • 1 minute water break

After you finish, start your day with a green smoothie. Good Luck and Good Morning.
